Laying out at home of two WC, one in interior and the other on a terrace, I transformed this last into dry toilet. I already read many things on the subject and I saw some under operation, which helped me to cross the course.
Small apprehension at the beginning, then… nothing to tell, it goes. I use it a year only nths, because it is outside.
Side odor: not more than in all WC, the chips are a fantastic absorber and of odor.
I carried it out myself according to plans found on the Net, I bought the glasses and the turn is played.
The chips are recovered in a carpenter not far from at home and a bag (they are large) makes me almost the nths.
Small inconveniences:
the bucket is a little small, I must thus empty it approximately twice per week
I had to resize my vat has compost because that done nevertheless a little volume
in summer the heap started released an ammonia odor due to the urine, I have to regulate the problem by adding chips, or straw or waste of garden on the heap before emptying the following bucket there.
It is job will say some, a “technological” retreat whereas it is so easy to fire hunting. Perhaps, but it is the same comfort of use, the little of work of “management” that represents makes exercise and recalls us with our responsibilities with respect to planet, because if it is in me… it is nevertheless because of us.
Moreover that feels on the water invoice.
